How to care for your Philodendron Brasil
How to care for your Brasil Philodendron
Our guidelines for helping it grow healthy and strong
The Brasil Philodendron, also known as Philodendron hederaceum 'Brasil', is an evergreen climbing plant native to the Caribbean. In our nursery, this plant stands out for its heart-shaped leaves, featuring bright green and yellow variegation that adds an exotic touch and color to any environment.
The right location
The Brasil Philodendron loves bright, indirect light, but it is important to avoid direct exposure to the midday sun, which could damage its delicate leaves. Place it in a well-lit location protected from direct sunlight.
When and how to water it
During summer, we recommend watering the Brasil Philodendron every 8 days, while every 18 days is sufficient in winter. Make sure the top 2–3 cm of soil are dry before watering, to prevent waterlogging that could damage the plant.
Temperature and humidity
The Brasil Philodendron prefers medium humidity, between 50% and 60%. Although we do not have specific data on the ideal temperature, it is important to maintain a comfortable environment, avoiding temperature fluctuations and drafts.
The right fertilizer
During the active growing season, in spring and summer, we recommend using a balanced liquid fertilizer. This will help the plant maintain its vitality and develop healthily.
The pot and soil
Although we do not have specific details about the ideal soil type, it is important to use a well-draining substrate to prevent waterlogging. Repotting can be done when the plant has filled its current pot, preferably in spring.
Our final advice
The Brasil Philodendron is a versatile, hardy plant, perfect for anyone who wants a touch of greenery without too much maintenance. Remember to check the soil regularly and adapt care to the specific conditions of your environment.
