How to care for your Aglaonema
How to care for your Aglaonema
Our guidelines for growing it healthy and strong
Aglaonema, also known as "Chinese evergreen", is an evergreen perennial plant native to Southeast Asia. In our nursery, Aglaonema is appreciated for its ability to adapt to various environmental conditions, making it an ideal choice for anyone who wants a touch of greenery at home without too many complications.
The right place
Aglaonema prefers bright but indirect light. It is important to avoid exposure to direct midday sunlight, which could damage its delicate leaves. Place it in a bright spot protected from direct sunlight.
When and how to water it
During summer, we recommend watering Aglaonema every 8 days, while every 18 days is sufficient in winter. Always check that the first 2–3 cm of soil are dry before watering, to prevent waterlogging that could damage the plant.
Temperature and humidity
Aglaonema thrives in environments with medium humidity, between 50% and 60%. Although we do not have precise data on the ideal temperature, it is advisable to keep it in a temperate environment, avoiding temperature fluctuations and cold drafts.
The right fertilizer
During the growing season, in spring and summer, it is helpful to feed Aglaonema with a balanced liquid fertilizer. This will help the plant maintain its lush, healthy foliage.
The pot and soil
Although we do not have detailed specifications about the type of soil, it is important that the substrate drains well to prevent waterlogging. Repotting every two years can help ensure sufficient space for the roots.
Our final recommendation
Aglaonema is an adaptable plant, but consistent attention to light and watering will make all the difference. Remember to check the soil and place it in a bright but sheltered environment. With this simple care, your Aglaonema will reward you with lush, long-lasting greenery.
